Gary Brock - chief operating officer of Baylor Health Care System in Dallas. Gary Brock is chief operating officer of Baylor Health Care System in Dallas. In this role, he provides operational oversight of the system's network of hospitals, primary care centers, senior health centers and community health centers. Brock, who has been associated with Baylor for 20 years, also oversees information services, strategic planning, human resources, consumer affairs, managed care, material management, ancillary services and real estate matters.

He is co-leader of Baylor's clinical transformation initiative, which is optimizing clinical operations to achieve significant quality and financial improvements, supported by information technology.

In addition, Brock continues to provide oversight to Baylor's physician organization, HealthTexas Provider Network, for which he served as president from its inception in 1994 until 2000.

Brock currently serves on the board of Texas Health Ventures Group, a joint venture with United Surgical Partners International that developed and operates 23 surgery centers and short-stay hospitals in partnership with local physicians in the Dallas/Fort Worth region. He also serves on the boards of Baylor Health Services, Baylor Regional Transplant Institute, Church University Insurance Company, Ltd. and THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano.

He previously held positions as executive director of Baylor Medical Center at Garland in Garland, Texas and senior vice president of managed care and physician network development for Baylor.

Prior to joining Baylor, Brock was assistant administrator of McAlester Regional Hospital in McAlester, Okla.

Brock earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
