Jon Skinner

Jon Skinner serves as the president of Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation (BIR), where he oversees the daily operations of the 116-bed rehabilitation hospital and manages a network of 16 inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation sites throughout the Baylor Health Care System. In addition, he manages all aspects of the musculoskeletal service lines of the Baylor system, including oversight of physical medicine and rehabilitation services at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas and overseeing the Baylor Tom Landry Health and Wellness Center.
Prior to joining BIR, Skinner served as executive director of the 71-bed Baylor Medical Center at Southwest Fort Worth. There he created a hospital-based endoscopy unit, established a weight loss surgery program and led the development and planning of a proposed $6 million expansion of the hospital's emergency department, which scheduled to begin construction in late spring of 2007. Under Skinner's leadership, Baylor Southwest Fort Worth received the VHA Leadership Award for clinical excellence for their efforts in surgical infection prevention and treatment of myocardial infarction (heart attack) in the hospital's emergency department.
Prior to joining Baylor Southwest Fort Worth, Skinner served as director of physician compensation and benefits for Health Texas Provider Network, Baylor Health Care System's physician network. In addition to his executive leadership experience, Skinner is a certified public accountant and previously served in accounting and financial management roles at local accounting firms.
Skinner received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Hardin-Simmons University and his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Colorado. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
