Stanley D. Tatum is president of Baylor Medical Center at Garland, a growing medical center with a staff committed to offering safe, quality and compassionate health care. The 263-bed facility, located in the northeast quadrant of Dallas, provides health care services to residents of Garland, Richardson, Northeast Dallas, Rowlett, Sachse, Wylie and other surrounding communities.
The medical center recently expanded its services with the addition of an outpatient surgery facility, North Garland Surgery Center. A new hyperbaric chamber and sleep center opened on the Baylor Garland campus in
summer 2006.
Tatum's health care career spans 33 years. Before joining Baylor Health Care System, he served as chief executive officer of the 100-bed, acute care Edmond Medical Center in Edmond, Okla.; chief operating officer at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, and several other health care administrative positions including associate administrator of Irving Community Hospital, now Baylor Medical Center at Irving.
Tatum serves on the Leadership Garland Steering Committee and is a board member of the Garland Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of Leadership Garland Class of 2003.
Tatum earned a Master of Business Administration, Health Services Administration, from the University of Dallas. He received his bachelor's degree from Lubbock Christian University.
