Jim Thaxton - President Baylor Medical Center at Irving. Jim Thaxton is president of 288-bed Baylor Medical Center at Irving, a full-service medical center that was named by the Dallas Business Journal as "The Best Large Company to Work in Dallas Fort Worth Area, 2005." As president, Thaxton oversees two hospital campuses: Baylor Medical Center at Irving and Baylor Health Center at Irving Coppell.

Thaxton's career path covers a wealth of financial and operational experiences. He joined Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas in 1980 as administrative director of the H.L. and Ruth Ray Hunt Heart Center, followed by controller positions at Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation and Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie. He returned to the downtown Baylor campus to serve as administrator of the 192-bed Erik and Margaret Jonsson Medical and Surgical Hospital.

From 1985 to 1995, Thaxton served in a range of health care settings: executive director of Texas Cardiology Consultants; vice president at Children's Medical Center of Dallas; and assistant administrator of RHD Memorial Medical Center. He rejoined Baylor in 1995 as a senior vice president with managed care responsibilities for all Baylor Health Care System facilities and HealthTexas Provider Network.

Thaxton received a bachelor of business administration degree in finance from Texas Tech University, and he earned a Master of International Management Studies degree from the University of Texas at Dallas.
