Baylor Health Care System Foundation Announces Community Leaders to Join Board of Directors

(DALLAS, Sept. 25, 2007) - Baylor Health Care System Foundation announced today the appointment of 11 philanthropists, community leaders and business people to its board of directors. Foundation board members assist Baylor Health Care System in raising support for its mission of patient care, education, research and community service and serve as ambassadors of good will for the system.

"Each of our new board members is committed to helping Baylor serve, care for and improve the health and lives of the people in our communities. We are honored to have them serve on our board of directors," said Rowland K. Robinson, president, Baylor Health Care System Foundation. "Baylor relies on philanthropy to help it achieve its vision of being the best place to give and receive safe, quality compassionate health care. The knowledge and expertise of these new board members will be essential in helping us reach that goal."

"These esteemed community leaders will be an invaluable asset to Baylor as we strive to offer quality patient care, seek innovative treatments through medical research, train tomorrow's medical professionals and serve the community," said Leonard Riggs, M.D., chairman of the Baylor Health Care System Foundation Board of Directors.

Since the Foundation was established in 1978, it has given back to Baylor Health Care System more than $300 million. Support comes from approximately 9,000 active donors, including individuals, corporations and other private foundations.
