Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie Purchases Additional Land in Ellis County

(DALLAS, Dec. 6, 2007) - Officials at Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie announced today that 83 acres of land at the northwest quadrant of I-35 and Highway 287 has been purchased by Baylor Health Care System. The site will be evaluated for future growth of the hospital. The purchase price will not be disclosed.
"We are evaluating the land as a future health care site," says Jay Fox, president, Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie. "We are committed to expanding our service area and will continue to assess the market to determine the best way to utilize this land to meet the future medical needs of the communities we serve."
It is estimated that Waxahachie's population will grow by 14 percent between 2006 and 2011.
Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie is a not-for-profit hospital dedicated to providing technologically advanced medical care closer to home for the residents of southern Dallas, Ellis County and the surrounding areas.
