Our History
Baylor University Medical Center has a rich history which began with its founding as the Texas Baptist Memorial Sanitarium in 1903.Here are a few of the many recognitions earned this year thanks to outstanding efforts by employees and physicians.
- Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation ranked among the top 26 rehab facilities in U.S. News & World Report "America's Best Hospitals Guide."
- The American Nurses Credentialing Center presented the Magnet Award for Excellence in Nursing Services, its highest recognition, to Baylor University Medical Center nursing.
- Baylor University Medical Center ranked among the top 50 hospitals in 10 of 17 specialties in the "America's Best Hospitals Guide".
- Patient satisfaction scores are on the rise due to staff demonstrating the Spirit of Excellence at Baylor University Medical Center and beyond.
