Psychiatric Programs
Psychiatric disorders often confuse and frustrate both the affected person and his/her family. Whether an individual requires immediate crisis intervention and emergency care or routine assessment and outpatient treatment, Baylor All Saints' team of highly qualified mental health professionals is on-call 24 hours a day.
Our treatment programs are tailored to each patient and successfully combine medical, biopsychiatric and cognitive group therapy to help patients and his/her family change unhealthy behaviors. These programs are designed for adults, 18 and older, who voluntarily consent to treatment and include:
- Acute inpatient program
- Partial hospital (day) program
- Intensive outpatient program with day and evening schedules
- Weekly aftercare groups
Chemical Dependency Programs
Chemical dependency is a chronic, progressive illness that can be fatal if untreated. It affects both the addicted person and his/her family. At Baylor All Saints, we treat chemical dependency in a supportive therapeutic environment that enables patients to develop self-responsibility and peer support, while abstaining from mood-altering chemical abuse. We focus on educating patients and his/her family about the illness and help them build coping skills to prevent relapse.
Our treatment program, based on the 12-step program, is designed to help adults, 18 and older, who have a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency. Patients who require medically supervised detoxification from drug or alcohol abuse begin their recovery on a unit supported by 24-hour monitored nursing care.
Under the direction of an attending psychiatrist on the medical staff of Baylor, our specialized interdisciplinary treatment team works with each patient and his/her family to identify current problem areas and establish treatment goals to lay the groundwork for long-term recovery.
The program services include:
- Medically supervised detoxification
- Inpatient rehabilitation program
- Inpatient sub-acute (residential) program
- Partial hospital (day) program
- Intensive outpatient program with day and evening schedules
- Weekly aftercare group
- Family program
- Pain management treatment component
- 12-step recovery philosophy and family participation
- In-house Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings
- Group therapy
- Educational and support groups
- Alumni organization
Dual Diagnosis Program
Many people who suffer from mental health problems also suffer from problems with drugs and alcohol, a condition known as "dual diagnosis." It is common for people to seek help for one problem, thinking the other will then go away. Unfortunately, this rarely solves the problem. Studies show that both issues need be treated at the same time to achieve success.
The Dual Diagnosis Program at Baylor All Saints helps adults combat both psychiatric disorders and chemical dependency through group psychotherapy, medication, education and family involvement.
