The Baylor All Saints Oncology Unit provides patients with advanced care in a family-centered environment. Each room has an area where families can stay overnight or just relax and watch television without disturbing their loved ones. Families also have use of a washer, dryer and refrigerator, along with an information center featuring books, computers and a DVD player. There is even a "humor cart" stocked with movies and games, as well as a medical boutique with items such as wigs and prosthesis.
A dedicated, oncology trained staff is assigned to the new unit. The nursing staff is composed primarily of RNs and a nurse clinician who mentors and trains staff to continually enhance the quality of care for patients. The unit's staff also features dietitians, social workers and chaplains dedicated to serving the needs of patients and their families.
Baylor All Saints Oncology Services features a full range of advanced tests designed to diagnose and treat cancer, including blood tests, MRI and CT scans, nuclear medicine scans, bronchoscopies and endoschopic biopsies and mammograms.
