Our Children's House at Baylor Frisco is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of children with special needs, their families and their communities.
A team of experienced pediatric specialists aims to help children achieve and maintain maximum function and independence, while providing their families with the support and resources they need.
Our Patients
Our program is tailored to the individual needs of each child. As part of our comprehensive
continuum of care, we offer outpatient services for children from birth to 18 years of age with a wide
variety of diagnoses including neurological, orthopaedic and developmental disorders such as:
- Developmental delays (motor/speech)
- Chromosomal abnormalities
- Disorders resulting from trauma
- Feeding disorders
- Congenital disorders
- Disorders reflecting disturbance of the nervous system
- Speech/language deficits
Our Services
Evaluation and treatment is provided by pediatric specialists in an environment designed specifically for
children. Our services include:
- Physical Therapy - assists patients in improving muscle strength, motor skills and balance
- Occupational Therapy - helps patients function as independently as possible by improving strength and
fine motor skills, self-care skills, visual perception/motor skills, handwriting and sensory processing
- Speech/Language Therapy - assists children with age-appropriate articulation, language and oralmotor/
feeding skillsv
- Neuropsychology - provides comprehensive assessment to diagnose disorders such as learning
disabilities, autism, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder and other related developmental disorders.
- Parent Education - teaches parents to continue therapy at home
- Developmental Screenings and Equipment
- Assessments - provides screenings or evaluations to determine if new or additional services or equipment are needed
- Parent Support - provides education and referral resources
Specialized Treatments
- Handwriting Therapy - evaluates and treats children with handwriting disorders
- Feeding Therapy - treats children with neurological and/or behavioral feeding disorders
- Sensorimotor/Defensiveness - helps patients and families understand and improve sensory processing

Ease of Payment
Medicaid, private insurance, private pay and charity care funding are accepted and filed by our offices.
Scholarship-funded care for families who qualify may be obtained through the
United Way at our Irving location.
