Darlene G. Cass Women's Imaging Center, located on the Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas campus, conducts extensive breast cancer research and uses advanced technology to assist physicians on the medical staff at Baylor in providing quality care.

Recommendations:

• Women age 18+ should perform a monthly self breast exam.
• Women age 20-40 should get a clinical breast exam every three years.
• Women age 40+ get a clinical breast exam each year and a mammogram each year.

What to Do When Your Mammogram Results are Abnormal

Although the word is frightening, abnormal results from a mammogram are more common than you may think. An abnormal report doesn't mean you have breast cancer, but it doesn't mean that you don't have breast cancer, either. It means that you should meet with a physician to decide if you need extra tests.
