Cancer Services
Under the medical direction of Marvin J. Stone, M.D., the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center is a consistent leader in the diagnosis, treatment and research of cancer. Currently, the centers clinical research program offers more than 30 experimental protocols for patients who are not responding to standard cancer treatments. Active research is taking place in genetics, immunotoxins and advanced laser applications.
Research at the Sammons Cancer Center actively contributes to advances in oncology, with the goal of improving current treatments and developing new therapies. Funding for research projects is a critical need. Equally important are patient education and psychosocial programs, which reach more than 2,000 patients and families each year.
