Celebrating Women, with Geralyn Lucas

Celebrating Women educates women about the threat of breast cancer, and raises funds for clinical research, up-to-date mammogram technology, and high-quality care for women regardless of their ability to pay. Your support of Baylor’s efforts will benefit thousands of women threatened by breast cancer.

The 2008 Celebrating Women Co-Chairmen, Sue Porter and Debbie Snell, along with the Honorary Chairmen, Marilyn Augur and her daughters, Margaret Hancock, Ann Hardaway and Elizabeth Taylor, invite your consideration of support for this year’s campaign.

The ninth annual Celebrating Women Luncheon will be held on Thursday, October 16, at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas. Our keynote speaker will be Geralyn Lucas, author of Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy, a story of a young woman coping with breast cancer that was made into an Emmy-nominated Lifetime movie in 2006. Geralyn’s vibrant story will touch the heart of any woman that has been faced with a life change, and will inspire us all in our fight against the illness.

Approximately 1 in 3 women will develop cancer in her lifetime, and breast cancer is one of the most likely types of cancer she will contract.* These women are our families, friends, neighbors and co-workers – the women we love and depend on every day. We are devoted to supporting awareness, research, treatment and rehabilitation of breast cancer to fight this insidious disease.
